The New Jersey Film Challenge trip consisted of two workshops and the award show where the winners of the three minute videos would be named. I decided to take the Practical Special Effects workshop and Down and Dirty Filmmaking workshop. During the workshops I learned a lot about filming and different new shots that I can use in other videos I make in the future. I also learned a lot about lighting and being able to take a long time in pre-production in order to make very successful videos. This trip made me realize how much my content has improved since freshman year and how much better my videos could get if I keep practicing the new techniques I learned in this trip. Being able to make content that entertains people is something I'm really interested in and I hope my videos only keep getting better.
Every time I work on a new video I always like to play a different role. In this video I was the director and it was a lot of fun to film. In this video my group decided that for this type of parallel editing video it would be best to make it a short comedy. Working on this video has made me realize how much I've learned throughout the year and I think directing videos has become something I would love to keep doing on future projects.
This three minute short video was submitted to the New Jersey Film Challenge. The whole point of the challenge was to make the video within five days and it was a great opportunity to learn new things. I liked the fact that my group was fast to come up with interesting ideas and we were all able to agree on something and work together to make a great video. It was a stressful week but at the end it payed off and I'm very proud of the video and how much effort everyone put into making it possible and finishing in time.
I enjoy making interviews that benefit the clubs at my school. I loved being able to interview Ms.Tan about the Silent Choir club because it is new to our school and my group had the opportunity to help the club get more members. I am a member of the club and although I don't know how to sign, the club is very entertaining and it helps people loose their ignorance towards the topic of death people.
Being one of the main characters in this music video was a great experience. I got to work with some of my classmates for the first time and it was very refreshing working with people who had different ideas and we were able to put them all together to make this music video possible. Although I was only an actor in this video I was able to state my opinions on how I thought the video would be better. Being able to work on this project made me think outside of the box and it has been a great benefit for the other projects I did after this one and others I want to make in the near future.
This video was the first I produced this year. I was delighted to do an interview on the guitar club because I used to be a member. I knew the video would benefit the club a lot and more people would join if they had more information about the club before signing up. After the video the club has been a success, a lot of people have joined to play the guitar and play/sing "Wonderwall". ( it's a joke but it's true, people do love to play "Wonderwall" and "Creep" on their guitar.)
